The Project

The Office of Student Activities & Leadership at UMass Lowell oversees over 200 clubs & organizations on campus. The Office had 650 followers in October of 2018 and low engagement. There was a need to build up the social media and build collaborations with cross campus partners. As of May 2024, the account has reached over 4,200 followers and over 35k accounts reached each semester. The account has grown to be focused on student life outside of just student clubs & organizations. The @umlactivities account is reached out to for collaborations when there is a need to get in front of the student body. Since October 2023, the student affairs marketing team has been working to rebrand the social media presence from @umlactivities to @umlstudentlife

JOIN.BELONG.LEAD. is the slogan that goes along with the @umlstudentlife rebrand. This ‘slogan’ encompasses the Chancellor’s initiatives for student success at UMass Lowell.

Brand Guide

The @umlstudentlife brand guide was created for the use of the internal marketing team and cross campus partners. The brand guide is to be sure that the new brand is being used correctly and to show visual aid of what to expect social media posts to look like moving forward.

Social Media: Teasing @umlstudentlife

We are set to soft launch the new handle @umlstudentlife on May 14, 2024. Between May 14 and May 30 the account will go dark and being teasing the new handle with one video a week. The profile photo and the first three feed posts will be changed to images shown in this section. This work was collaborated with Sherill Choong, Marketing Assistant
